GlycerSize™ is an option for people exploring a stimulant-free addition to their training drinks. PER4M's unflavoured powder lets you keep the flavour of your existing drink while adding a clearly measured serving.

What is GlycerSize™?

GlycerSize™ is a branded powdered ingredient containing 65% glycerol. PER4M supplies it in an unflavoured 90 g product, with a 3 g serving and 30 servings per tub. Its ingredient list includes GlycerSize™ and silicon dioxide. [PER4M: GlycerSize Powder]

Glycerol is a different ingredient from creatine, citrulline and electrolytes. Understanding those differences helps you choose a formula for a specific purpose.

Glycerol, hydration and muscle fullness

Glycerol has been studied with fluid intake as a way to increase fluid retention before exercise. This is the basis for its use in hydration- and pump-focused supplements. PER4M positions GlycerSize for hydration and muscle fullness during training.

The research context matters: studies of glycerol-assisted hyperhydration often use controlled fluid intake and substantially different doses from a small commercial scoop. Some studies report performance benefits, while others do not. Those findings do not establish that a serving of PER4M GlycerSize produces the same effects. A temporary pumped appearance is also different from building new muscle tissue. Keep your training, food intake and recovery at the centre of your routine.

Understanding the serving

Reading PER4M's serving information
Label figure What it means
3 g / 3,000 mg GlycerSize™ The amount of the branded powder in a serving.
65% glycerol The declared glycerol content of that ingredient.
Approximately 1.95 g glycerol Calculated as 3 g × 65%. It is not 3 g of pure glycerol.
90 g tub Thirty 3 g servings.

Compare like-for-like figures when looking at other glycerol formulas. A branded powder weight, a glycerol percentage and a pure glycerol amount are different measurements.

Using it in your routine

PER4M's directions specify one 3 g scoop mixed into 200 ml cold water. Use the scoop supplied, follow the current pack instructions and maintain appropriate fluid intake.

The unflavoured format is convenient when you want to keep an existing drink's taste. Before combining products, check whether your pre-workout or intra-workout already contains glycerol and review the full serving instructions.

Choose one new addition at a time so you can assess how it fits your routine. Do not copy high-dose research protocols or force excessive fluid intake to try to intensify a pump.

GlycerSize vs other training supplements

  • Caffeine: a stimulant used in some pre-workouts. Glycerol itself is not caffeine; check anything you mix it with.
  • Electrolytes: minerals such as sodium and potassium. GlycerSize does not replace those minerals.
  • Creatine: serves a different role in supporting repeated high-intensity exercise. It is not interchangeable with glycerol.
  • Citrulline: another ingredient found in pump-focused formulas, with a different mechanism and evidence base.

Start with the purpose of each ingredient, rather than adding several products with overlapping amounts. Our Pre-Workout Guides and Electrolytes & Hydration Guide explain those categories in more detail.

Frequently asked questions

Does PER4M GlycerSize contain caffeine?

The listed formula contains GlycerSize and silicon dioxide, with no caffeine listed. A drink you combine it with may contain caffeine.

Is GlycerSize the same as an electrolyte powder?

No. GlycerSize supplies a glycerol ingredient, while electrolyte formulas supply minerals. Compare them by their role rather than treating them as substitutes.

Does 3,000 mg mean 3,000 mg pure glycerol?

No. The 3,000 mg refers to GlycerSize powder. At its declared 65% glycerol content, that corresponds to approximately 1,950 mg glycerol.

Can it be combined with a non-stim pre-workout?

PER4M positions its product alongside its Pump Non-Stim formula. Check both current labels, ingredient overlap and serving instructions before combining them.

Can glycerol cause side effects?

Glycerol research reports occasional nausea, digestive discomfort, dizziness and headaches. Stop using a product if it makes you feel unwell and seek advice as appropriate. [van Rosendal and colleagues, 2009]
